Content dissemination, archiving, preservation and conservation policy

Guerra Colonial allows its authors to self-archive their articles in all versions (submitted version, accepted version and published version) in:

1. Institutional repositories (university archives...).
2. Thematic repositories, generalist preprints (Zenodo,  Europeana...)
3. Personal web spaces (website, blog, social networks, scientific forums, etc.).
4. Social networks of an academic and scientific nature (ResearchGate...).

Such publications are required to provide full bibliographic details of the publication.

Guerra Colonial follows preservation and interoperability practices aimed at guaranteeing permanent accessibility to its digital resources and objects, following the recommendations established by UNESCO (2014), the Digital Preservation Handbook (Digital Preservation Coalition) and the JASPER project (JournAlS are Preserved forevER), aware of the importance of guaranteeing the journal's collection forever.

To ensure long-term preservation, Guerra Colonial uses recognised systems such as LOCKSS, which facilitates the distribution of content between libraries to create permanent archives. In addition, the journal participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). The journal's contents are also preserved in the URJC's institutional repository, BURJC Digital. T

In addition, the journal carries out the following processes to ensure the preservation and maintain the accessibility of its digital objects in the long term:

- Preservation metadata: The journal uses quality metadata using DCMI (Dublin Core Metadata Initiative), MARC, MODS and OpenURL.

- Persistent identifiers: All articles in the journal, since its origin in 2003, have DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and URN (Uniform Resource Names).

- Services and data infrastructures for interoperability.
