Abstract
The colonization process carried out by European powers in the African continent from the nineteenth century was one of the most important milestones in its history. Following the search for new territories and resources, the main European nations pounced on Africa in order to expand their domains and advance the industrialization process that was taking place in Europe.
However, the colonization of the continent brought a multitude of confrontations, revolts, rebellions and wars because its inhabitants refused to be part of and depend on a colonial empire, wanting to maintain their ways of life, customs and traditions.
One of the affected territories in the African continent was Southwest Africa, the current Namibia, which had to deal with the German occupation, producing during this period one of the greatest genocides in its history.
