Guerra Colonial is a biannual periodical (June and December) that aims to deepen our knowledge of the history of colonial wars, from the incursions of European states into the world in the 19th century to the processes of decolonisation that took place in the 20th century, although other events that do not fall within these chronological and geographical frameworks but are linked to the causes that motivated the processes of colonisation are also of interest.

Guerra Colonial is included in the Portal de Revistas Científicas de la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, which acts as publisher, in OJS format.

At Guerra Colonial, we give importance to a type of publication based on scientific rigour and respectful treatment of the sources, without forgetting the informative nature that should prevail in an online publication. For this reason, we invite all researchers and lovers of military history and the study of colonialism to submit their work for future publication.

Guerra Colonial is an open access journal, which means that all content is freely available at no charge to the user or their institution. Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full text of articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without seeking prior permission from the publisher or author. Furthermore, Guerra Colonial does not charge any submission/submission fees or publication fees.

The rights to articles and content published in Guerra Colonial remain with the author at all times.
